it's been my experience that many witnesses i've known are of native american background and eventually they phase out of the wt's grasp, but not without going through some hard times and deep depression.
several dear brothers i know are out, some faded, one inactive, all going through the same patterns.
and why does it seem more prevalent among those with a percentage of native american descent?.
I've noticed there is very little talk about Native Americans on this site.
Is it because few NA become JWs? Are Americans more embarrassed about their treatment of NAs than they are of their treatment of African-Americans in the past? Is this why NA are hardly mentioned?
i used to camp alot as a kid.
i was in cub scouts and boy scouts.
dad and i went to lot's of camping trips.
Not a camper, hate it. The closest I'll get to camping is a caravan, RV or cabin.
I'd rather have a comfortable bed off the ground with a proper toilet and shower.

Welcome to the site, sidex. I had heard rumours of groups forming in Russia but I hadn't seen any real evidence of it.
I went to Russia (Moscow and St Petersburg) for the 1993 Moscow convention so I have a soft spot in my heart for Russia and the culture of Eastern European countries.

That's what the 1950 WT might have said, but I'm saying from experience as an Aussie non-voter that we were told NOT to go to the voting booths. The reason being that if we were seen there, it would be assumed that we WERE voting for a government other than Jehovah's.

I live in a country where you are REQUIRED to vote - you will get fined if you don't.
JWs DO NOT go to the voting booths - they stay away from them so it doesn't look like you're involved in the voting process. "No part of the world" and all that.
However, when you get your "please explain" letter from the govt for not voting, the JWs simply state that it's against their religious conscience to vote and they don't get fined.
Speaking from experience.

get them pressed.. use your good dishes everyday.. shave on weekends.. do not wait for special occasions.. do not tuck your best away in the drawers, in the back of the closet, in your heart.. dont wait for holidays or invitations.. declare that your today is the special occasion.. call instead of emailing.
(it feels so good to connect.).
I've put some of these into practice in the past and it does make you feel better.

the leaders,apostles,elders and older men(neanderthals) have a debate in jerusalem.they conculde that it is not req'd.they draft a letter for the missionaries(paul,timothy and others) so it can be read in all the congreg.. so what does paul do?he clips timmies penis because he is afraid of the what the jews will think.wtf.than he goes on and reads this directive(letter) from the gb to all the congreg,that clipping a penis is not req'd.what a hypocrite.. its like a co giving(allowing) his child a blood transfusion.than getting on the stage and reading a letter from the gb saying a blood transfusion is wrong.
I'm not a man, but I'd imagine it would have involved some talking to get Tim to allow Paul to get near his willy with a knife!
whilst under watchtower influence i had little interest or awareness in these areas.. now they have become a passion.. i wonder if it has something to do with the "cult identity or self" versus the "authentic identity or self" as outlined by steven hassan in the "interacting with dual identities" chapter of his book "releasing the bonds - empowering people to think for themselves".. who has had a similar experience and/or change of career related to unplugging from the watchtower?.
